What do the emails that are sent to my backers look like?

Types of emails sent to backers:

Survey Email

This email is sent when you send surveys to your backers. They will receive an email with a unique link to their survey.

If you added a Survey Deadline date, the date will be included in the email as "Survey Deadline: XX/XX/XXXX". It is removed from reminder emails if the deadline has passed.

Reminder Email

Backers that do not respond to the survey will receive reminder emails automatically from the first 30 days that you send them their survey invite email. For more information, see Best practices for backer communication.

Reminder emails will look exactly the same as the Survey Email, except with a slightly different subject line:
Reminder -- Response needed to deliver your reward for [Project Name]


Survey Confirmation Email

This email is sent when a backer clicks on the confirm button at the end of their survey. If they update their survey later, they will receive another email of their updated information.

Credit Card Has Been Successfully Charged Email

This email is sent when you attempt to process credit cards that your backers have entered in BackerKit to pay for such things as add-ons, missing shipping or any other funds they may owe.

Hi [Backer Name],

Thanks again for supporting [Project Name]!
We successfully charged [$X] to the credit card you provided for the additional funds you added in BackerKit.
If you want to review your information,  follow this link
If you think this charge is an error, please email [Project Creator Email] and you'll get sorted right away.

Please check the  project updates page on [crowdfunding platform] for the latest information, including estimated shipping dates.

Credit Card Errored Email

This email is sent when you attempt to process credit cards that your backers have entered in BackerKit to pay for such things as add-ons, missing shipping or any other funds they may owe. If the credit card is declined, the backer will receive this email asking them to update their credit card. Once the backer updates, the system will attempt to process the card again.

Hi [Backer Name],
Thanks again for supporting [Project Name]!
Our system just tried to charge [$X] to the credit card provided for additional funds you added in BackerKit, but the charge failed.
Please update your payment information. It only takes a second!
Once we have your updated information, the system will retry the charge, and you should be good to go.

This email is sent if you have the Paypal payment feature enabled for your backers, and your backers add funds via Paypal. They will receive this email that their payment went through.

Survey Incomplete Email

This email is sent when you attempt to lock down your backers' surveys, but there is missing information they need to confirm before they can move to the next stage or process their credit cards if they owe additional funds.

48 Hour Confirm Shipping Address Email

BackerKit has an optional feature that allows you to send an email letting your backers know they have 48 hours to make last minute updates before you completely lock down their shipping address and get ready to ship.
