BackerKit Launch Email List Policy

All email lists uploaded into Launch are subject to review to ensure they are sourced ethically. We have the right to suspend or remove any account until proof of where these lists were sourced have been provided. This policy is in place to prevent the misuse of our email services and to protect the integrity of our principals at BackerKit.

To use BackerKit Launch services, you must agree to the following guidelines:

• You won’t send spam!
• You’ve gathered proper permission to send emails to your uploaded list.
• Uploading your list will not send confirmation emails.
• Uploading your list will not generate a new member if the email address is already associated with an existing member in your account.

Purchased or third-party email lists are not permitted.

Our email list policy prohibits uploading purchased, acquired lists, or lists in which the members did not knowingly opt into future communications. Uploading a list that was given to you by another project creator would be prohibited as the members of this list did not opt into communication for your project.

Your account may be temporarily suspended during review to determine if an uploaded email list is legitimate.

You may receive an outreach from our team if we suspect the email list that you have uploaded violates these guidelines. If this happens and you are prevented from sending out an email campaign, please be sure to reply to any communications from the BackerKit team and/or reach out as soon as possible to ensure a timely review.

Your use of BackerKit Launch must not include any of the following prohibited items or activities:

• Emails that violate the CAN-SPAM act or other anti-spam regulations
• Offensive material (e.g., hate speech, calls to violence) or any content that promotes harm, discrimination, bigotry, or intolerance towards protected or marginalized groups
• Pornography and other mature content depicting nudity or explicit sexual acts.
• Substances or products that are illegal, banned, or regulated (e.g. alcohol, narcotics, tobacco, paraphernalia, pharmaceuticals) and any medical practices, claims, treatment, equipment, or related paraphernalia
• Content that is, in our sole discretion, materially false, inaccurate, or misleading in a way that could deceive or confuse others about important events, topics, or circumstances.
• Weapons (e.g., knives, explosives, firearms), replicas of weapons, and weapon accessories
• Equity offers, returns on investment (ROI), money-processing, annuities, credit services, or cryptocurrencies
• Contests, coupons, gambling, raffles, or any activity with an entry fee
• Animals, livestock, produce, or any regulated food or drink items

Should your project include items or activities not mentioned here or that you are uncertain about, or may be subject to more specific regulations, we encourage you to contact us at trustandsafety@backerkit.com before starting your project.

Adult content is restricted and must adhere to our payment processor’s acceptable use standards. 

Due to requirements that apply to our payment processors, and requirements from our financial partners, we can’t currently allow projects that sell or offer adult content or services. This includes literature, imagery and other media.

Communications that infringe on intellectual property rights are not permitted.

We do not allow any products or services that directly infringe or facilitate infringement upon the trademark, patent, copyright, trade secrets, proprietary or privacy rights of any third party. This includes the sales or distribution of music, movies, software, or any other licensed materials without appropriate authorization.

BackerKit may suspend or terminate your account if you send a Campaign, create or manage a Site, or otherwise distribute any Content that we determine, in our sole discretion, to violate these guidelines.
