How do I update my payment method?

In your pledge:

  1. To update your payment method for a BackerKit pledge, click on the "Edit Payment Method" link on your pledge confirmation page:

  1. Then click the "Add a New Payment Method" on the page that takes you to:
The green checkmark to the side of your payment method means this is the default payment method for this BackerKit pledge.
  1. Enter your payment details in the form. Once you are done entering your information, hit "Add Payment Method" at the bottom of the form:

  1. *IMPORTANT* Once your new payment method is added, select it from the list of payment methods available to you. If you do not select your new payment method so that the green checkmark is to the left of it, your old card will remain the payment method that is charged in any future charging attempts.

  1. Press "Confirm Your Pledge" at the bottom of the page to save your selection. The "Confirm your Pledge" button will never double-charge you.

In your survey:

To update your payment method in your survey, click on your BackerKit survey confirmation link that was sent to your email. If you need this link to be resent, please go to our survey recovery page here.

Once you have gotten into your survey confirmation link, click “Edit Your Order”. This will take you to your survey review page and you will see the option to add a new card in place of the one we currently have on file in the bottom-right corner of the page.


In your BackerKit account:

To update your payment method in your BackerKit account, start by logging in. Once logged in, please click on “Settings” in the top right corner of the page.

Once here, you will see the option to update both your shipping address and credit card information within BackerKit. 

Clicking “Add Payment Method” will update your card information across all surveys you have open that are not yet charged. (Keep this in mind in case you only want to use a certain card for a specific survey)

Once done, click the blue button stating “Add Card for (X) projects” and you’re all set! You’ve successfully updated your payment method for all your remaining surveys!
