How Do I Track My Teaser Page Referrals in BackerKit Launch?

BackerKit tracks Teaser Page referrals by collecting the previous website that backer was on.

You can view Teaser Page referrals on the "View Results" page for each Teaser Page.

If you want to be explicit about tracking specific sources, you can add a custom referral code at the end of your Teaser Page URL when you share it out to your community:

https://www.backerkit.com/call_to_action/{landing_page_token}/landing?ref=my_website

Please make sure there are no whitespace in your referral code.

Using ref tags to track where your sign-ups are coming from helps you understand which marketing channels, ads, or social media platforms are driving the most engagement. Here’s why it’s valuable:

  1. Measure Marketing Effectiveness – See which campaigns or sources (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, email newsletters) are bringing in the most sign-ups.
  2. Tailor Your Strategy – If certain sources perform better, you can double down on what works and refine underperforming channels.
  3. Track Referral Programs – If you're using influencers, affiliates, or partnerships, ref tags make it easy to track their impact.
  4. Optimize Ad Spend – If you’re running paid ads to your teaser page, ref tags help you determine which sources are most effective so you can allocate budget effectively.
  5. Improve Customer Journey – Knowing how prospective backers discover your sign-up page can help you optimize content and messaging for better conversion rates.

Ref tags allow you to optimize your strategy, invest in what works, and improve conversions by understanding your audience’s journey.
