Digital Downloads
Digital rewards are items, such as PDFs, codes, or keys, provided by creators for their backers. BackerKit provides the tools for distribution, but timing, availability, and the platform used to deliver rewards varies from creator to creator.
Where can I find my digital downloads?
If you have a BackerKit Backer Account:
- Your digital downloads live in your BackerKit Survey. You can access all of your surveys in your BackerKit account.

After locating your survey under the second tab, "Your Surveys":

Click the "Project Name" to open your survey.
- You will be redirected to your survey review page.
- Once rewards are available, you’ll see a "Get Your Digital Rewards" button on your Survey Review page. Clicking this gives you access to any downloads, codes, or pass-phrases included in your rewards.
If you don’t have a BackerKit Backer Account:
👉 You don’t need a BackerKit account to complete or manage your surveys, but it can be helpful.
If you don’t have a BackerKit account or lost your survey email, use the Survey Recovery tool.
- Enter the project name → select it → enter the email address you used to pledge.
- You’ll receive a "Recover your survey" email with a direct link to your Survey Review page where you can access your digital rewards.
Digital Rewards Tab:
The digital downloads tab available in your account (in My Pledges & Surveys) is only reserved for instant digital rewards earned through reservations, and teaser/launch party pages when offered by the creator. Our team is working towards improving this. In the meantime, previously released digital downloads and newly released digital downloads through surveys will not appear here and can still be accessed through the above methods.
Which platform will my rewards be delivered through?
Not all creators use BackerKit to distribute digital rewards. Some use third-party services such as DriveThruRPG, BookFunnel, or other distribution platforms.
It’s important to check the main campaign page or the project updates page on the original crowdfunding platform (BackerKit Crowdfunding, Kickstarter, etc.) to confirm which service the creator is using for delivery.
📌 If a creator is distributing rewards through an external platform, those rewards will typically be sent to the email address you pledged with. You will not be able to locate externally distributed rewards in your BackerKit account/survey. If you're having trouble accessing these, please contact the project creator team directly.
If you used an Apple Private Relay email address, this may disrupt the delivery of your rewards from third-party platforms. Please see our Apple Private Relay Help Article for more information.
When will I receive my digital downloads?
- Distribution timing is set by the creator. It’s possible your digital rewards haven’t been released yet.
- Check the project updates page on the original crowdfunding platform for the latest news on reward distribution.
- If your rewards haven’t appeared and you believe they’ve been distributed, it may be because your order hasn’t been locked and charged yet. Digital rewards are typically released once payment is successful.
- If you need us to manually rerun a charge, feel free to contact us. You can also reach us via the "FAQ" page on any BackerKit campaign page.
What is BackerKit’s role in digital fulfillment?
BackerKit is a software platform that project creators use to manage their pledge systems and conduct surveys for their supporters. We have no involvement in project fulfillment, production schedules, or delivery timelines.
Once a creator makes digital rewards available through BackerKit, they will appear in your survey after your order has been locked and charged. For any questions about release dates or reward status, the best resources are:
