Requesting a Page Review - Approval to Launch
Once you are ready to set your Crowdfunding project live, you must request a review for your project from our team. This process can take two to four business days, so make sure to plan ahead! Before submitting for review, we ask that your project passes a few checks to ensure you are ready.
Below are more details on how to pass each check:
Connect with Stripe
BackerKit processes payments between creators and backers via Stripe. We require this to be set up properly before accepting any pledges. You can set this up in the Stripe section of your project admin dashboard.
Complete your identity verification
All creators must pass identity verification before launching a project on BackerKit to ensure safety for our creators and backers. You can complete this process in the Identity Verification section of your project admin dashboard.
Check whether your country is supported. If you are experiencing any issues completing your identity verification, contact our team, and we can assist you further.
Finish your profile
All creators must build out their own profile in preparation for participating in our community. To pass this check, you must complete your profile with a public facing name or company name, image, and bio.
Build your audience
To maximize the success of your upcoming project, it's critical to have support from your existing communities and to have an audience ready to pledge on day one. To pass this check, you must have a minimum of 25 members (email addresess) in your Launch account. However, we strongly recommend having more.
If your funding goal is $500 and your estimated average pledge amount is $20, you will need at least 25 pledges. We typically observe a conversion rate of 5% to 10% among members notified via Launch. In this case, we recommend having at least 250 to 500 members before you start your project. Conversion rates can vary depending on how invested your members are in supporting your project. While it's not prescriptive, it's worth keeping in mind. Taking this into account can help you focus your list-building activities and put you in a more comfortable position on launch day.
Import your past projects
To ensure the success of your upcoming project, we require that your previous projects be imported into your Launch account so that all your existing fans are messaged about your project on day one. You can import your previous projects by following these steps.
If you are a first time creator, you will not be able to pass this check. Not to worry, contact our team, and we can assist you in overriding this step.
Finish setting up your project
All creators must have completed the following project setup:
- Project image
- Project description
- Project title
- At least one story section
- At least one pledge level
