Creating Thank You Informational Pledge Questions
Creating pledge questions that include a 'Thank You' along with additional helpful information for navigating the survey cuts down on backer confusion regarding pledge rewards, campaign add-ons, and shipping fees for No Reward and Digital Reward pledge levels.
At a minimum we recommend having one ‘thank you’ question per type of pledge level:
- Pledge Levels with No Rewards
- Pledge Levels without Shippable Rewards (i.e. digital items only)
- Pledge Levels with Shippable Rewards (i.e. physical items included)
We recommend sorting your pledge questions so that the "thank you" questions will appear to your backers as the final pledge question. This will help guide them through the next part of their survey.
How to Create Thank You Pledge Questions:
- Below you will find example wording you can copy/paste for each question.
- For the question answers we recommend something like “Got it!” or “I understand, thank you!”
- Once you create the question & answer, you will need to assign it to the appropriate pledge levels by scrolling to the bottom of the page, selecting each level, and hitting apply.
Tip: Using HTML when setting up pledge questions is optional if you want to add formatting to your questions. Without HTML, all the text will turn into one single block. Using basic HTML can help create line breaks, bold text, italic text, etc...check out common options here.
Example Pledge Questions to Copy/Paste
Pledge Question for No Reward Pledge Levels:
Thank you for your support! You are in the No Rewards Pledge level.
<br><br>
Feel free to add extra items from the upcoming add-ons page! Please note: if you add any physical add-ons, our shipping fees will default to the highest possible cost until you enter your address on the last step of the survey. At that point, the correct shipping cost will be applied at checkout.
Assign this question to: Any pledge level that does not receive any type of reward
Pledge Question for Digital Only Pledge Levels:
Thank you for your support! Your pledge level items are already in your cart.
<br><br>
Feel free to add extra items from the upcoming add-ons page! If you purchased add-on items through the original campaign, these will also automatically be in your cart and you’ll see them on the next screen.
<br><br>
Note: Since you are in a tier that does not include physical rewards, if you add any physical add-ons, your shipping fees will default to the highest possible cost until you enter your address on the last step of the survey. At that point, the correct shipping cost will be applied at checkout. Please proceed past the add-ons page to see your final shipping fee.
Assign this question to: Any pledge level that only includes digital rewards (like PDFs or game keys), or a reward that isn’t shippable (for ex. a Zoom session with the creator)
Pledge Question for Physical Reward Pledge Levels:
Thank you for your support! Your pledge level items are already in your cart.
<br><br>
Feel free to add extra items from the upcoming Add-ons page!
<br><br>
If you purchased add-on items through the original campaign, you will confirm these on the next page.
Assign this question to: All other pledge levels that do not fall into the other 2 categories. This should be any level that includes at least one physical or shippable item.
Note: Informational pledge questions do not require SKUs, and you can ignore any warning you may see prompting a SKU to be added.
Pro Tip: Pledges questions require HTML for correct formatting
- We have already included HTML as needed in the example questions above
