Appealing a content moderation decision
BackerKit is committed to maintaining a safe, transparent, and trustworthy environment for both creators and backers. As part of this commitment, we may take moderation actions on content, projects, or accounts that violate our Terms of Service, community guidelines, or legal obligations.
Moderation actions may include:
- Removal of specific content (e.g., comments, project images, descriptions, updates)
- Restriction or closure of a BackerKit account and connected BackerKit services
- Rejection or suspension of a BackerKit project
If you believe an action was taken in error, or if you have new information or context you’d like us to review, you may submit an appeal.
How to submit an appeal
To appeal a decision, please email trustandsafety@backerkit.com within six months of the original decision and include all of the following details:
- Subject line: BackerKit Appeal Submission
- Your email address (must match the one associated with your BackerKit account)
- Your current location (country)
- What action you are appealing (e.g., content removal, project rejection, account restriction)
- Why you are appealing the decision (include any relevant context, clarifications, or new evidence)
- Any relevant attachments (e.g., screenshots, documentation, correspondence)
Incomplete appeals may result in delays or prevent our team from conducting a proper review.
What happens next?
Once your appeal is received, our Trust & Safety team will review the information and respond via email. In some cases, we may request additional information to complete our review.
All appeal submissions are handled in accordance with our Privacy and Data Policy. Your data will only be used for the purposes of processing the appeal.
