Trust & Safety on BackerKit
Building a safe and supportive community
We’re here to help creators bring their ideas to life with the support of their backers. Our goal is to create a platform that’s safe, open, and community-driven. Trust is part of that foundation, and it’s a team effort. Whether you’re a creator, a backer, or part of BackerKit’s team, we all play a part in building this together.
- The BackerKit team is committed to running a safe, transparent, and reliable platform for all of our users.
- Our creators are responsible for the fulfillment of their project, keeping communication open with their backers, and following BackerKit’s rules and guidelines.
- Our backers are encouraged to make informed choices before supporting a project and engage with the BackerKit community respectfully.
Our responsibilities and commitments
A safe platform for everybody.
We’ve set clear rules for creators and backers, and every project goes through a review before it’s live to make sure it’s following those rules. If something’s off—like a rule violation—we're quick to action. This could mean removing content or suspending accounts if needed.
Our Trust & Safety team works around the clock, using both automated tools and human review to catch potential risks. We’re here to keep things secure and make sure everybody feels safe on our platform.
Trust in the process.
Creators are required to explain their project goals and any potential challenges so backers can make informed decisions. If we have to review something further, we’ll make sure backers are in the loop.
If backers are not already familiar with a creator or project, we encourage them to do their homework—check over project details, read creator bios, and ask questions. If something doesn’t feel right, let our team know.
Encouraging open communication.
We make it easy for creators and backers to stay connected. Updates, comments, and messages keep everyone in the know. Creators are encouraged to keep backers in the loop with regular updates, so everyone knows what’s happening. Open, honest communication is the key to trust. Backers should expect to hear from creators regularly—especially if there are delays or issues.
How you can help keep BackerKit safe
BackerKit thrives because of our community of backers and creators. If you see something that you believe violates BackerKit's guidelines, we encourage you to flag it for our Trust & Safety team.
