BackerKit policies and guidelines

❌ Illegal or harmful activities

• Projects or content promoting hate, harassment, discrimination, violence, or self-harm.
• Weapons, ammunition, weapon accessories, explosives, controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia.
• Gambling, lotteries, raffles, and any activity that requires payment to enter. Contests, sweepstakes, and giveaways require approval.
• Products that are unsafe, unlicensed, or that do not meet applicable health and safety standards.
• Materially false or misleading content about events, topics, or circumstances.

❌ Deceptive or fraudulent activity

• False or misleading statements about a project, its team, or its progress.
• Impersonation, plagiarism, or use of content you do not have rights to use.
• Spam, fake accounts, and artificially inflating backer counts or funding (including pledging to your own project).

❌ AI-generated content

• Crowdfunding projects may not contain content or assets created solely with generative AI tools. AI tools may be used to adjust human-created work within the limits of the BackerKit AI Policy.

❌ Misuse of personal data

• Uploading contact lists without opt-in consent from each recipient.
• Using backer data for anything other than project communication and fulfillment.
• Selling, sharing, or misusing another person's personal information.

❌ Financial or fulfillment misconduct

• Launching without a realistic plan to produce and deliver rewards.
• Offering securities, equity, profit-sharing, returns on investment, or other financial incentives.
• Using pledges to pay unrelated debts or prior project obligations without disclosing it to backers.
• Routing payments outside approved payment methods.

❌ Restricted content and rewards

• Mature content is allowed when it meets the BackerKit Mature Content Policy. Pornography and any sexualized depiction of minors are prohibited.
• Alcohol, air transportation, live animals, regulated food or drink, cryptocurrency, NFTs, lending services, counterfeit goods, multi-level marketing, spyware, malware, and surveillance tools.

❌ Inactivity or project abandonment

• Creators must respond to backers and to BackerKit and post regular updates until rewards are delivered.
