Apple Private Relay Emails
Why Am I Not Receiving My Survey?
Apple’s Private Relay feature automatically generates a unique, anonymous email address to protect your real inbox when you sign in with Apple. This relay address is tied specifically to the platform where it was created (in many crowdfunding cases, Kickstarter, IndieGoGo, etc.) and only accepts messages sent directly from that platform.
Because BackerKit is a separate platform, emails sent from BackerKit: including surveys, project updates, and confirmations, are blocked by Apple’s relay and will not successfully be delivered to your inbox.
What You Need to Do
To make sure you receive your survey and all future updates, please reach out to our support team with a non-relay email address you’d like us to use going forward.
Once we have your preferred email, here’s what we’ll take care of on our end:
- Update your email address across all of your active pledges with us (with your permission).
- Resend your survey so you can complete your order without any hassle.
Important Note: If you contact us using an Apple Private Relay email address, please ensure you also include a working non-relay email address in your message. Without a direct, non-relay email, we will be unable to reply to your message or make any necessary updates to your pledge.
A Note About Kickstarter
It’s also a good idea to update your email address directly on Kickstarter. If your Kickstarter account still has the Apple relay address, the same issue will occur every time a new BackerKit survey is sent for any project you back in the future.
Please note: Updating your Kickstarter email address will not apply to any BackerKit surveys that have already been sent, but will resolve this issue going forward.
You can update your Kickstarter email in your Kickstarter account settings.
