How do I resend a survey?

If a backer contacts you saying they didn’t receive their survey or asks you to resend it, you can resend their survey in a few different ways.

Important: Be sure to ask the backer to add support@s.backerkit.com to their address book to make sure that emails from you don't get caught in their spam filter.

• Allow the backer to re-enter their email address
• Resend the survey with BackerKit
• Send the survey outside of BackerKit
• Change the backer's email address in BackerKit

Allow the backer to re-enter their email address

You can send the backer a link to your BackerKit survey home page where they can re-enter their email address and a new survey email will be sent to them. The link to the survey home page follows the format: https:// [project name].backerkit.com. For example, if your project name is ‘Diaspora’, the link you provide is https://diaspora.backerkit.com.

Once on the survey home page, the backer should enter the exact email address they used to back your project on the crowdfunding platform, and BackerKit will resend the survey email to them.

Resend the survey with BackerKit

To resend the survey to the backer with BackerKit:

1. On the menu on the left, click Backers.
2. Search for the backer by their name, email address, notes, or pledge ID.
3. When you find the backer, click their name.
4. Click Resend.
   

   

BackerKit will resend the survey to the backer at the email address they used to back your project on the crowdfunding platform.

Send the survey outside of BackerKit

If the backer continues to have problems receiving their survey from BackerKit, you can send the survey outside of BackerKit. You can send the survey from the messaging feature of your crowdfunding platform, your personal email account, or another form of private message.  

Important: The BackerKit survey link is unique to each backer. Don’t post it on a public platform, such as Facebook or Twitter, where another person can access the link.

To send the survey outside of BackerKit:

1. On the menu on the left, click Backers.
2. Search for the backer by their name, email address, notes, or pledge ID.
3. When you find the backer, click their name.
4. Next to the survey link, click the Copy icon.
   

   

5. Send the link to the backer by email or private message.

Change the backer’s email address in BackerKit

If the backer no longer has access to their email address or wishes to use a different email address, you can change their email address and resend the survey. For more information about changing a backer's email address, see How do I change a backer's email address?
