How do I remove an expired card?
👉 In order to remove the outdated payment method in your BackerKit account, you will first need to update the payment within the surveys that have pending charges. Review our Payment Update HelpDoc here.
You can review which pending payments are associated with your outdated card under your BackerKit Account Settings under 'Payment Methods'.
After this, you can click "Update" in the far right which will bring you to a list of your remaining charges:

- From there, you can click each Project Name of the listed campaigns, which will bring you either to your pledge confirmation page if the project is still live, or your survey page:

From your pledge confirmation page, you can click 'Edit Payment Method' to update your payment to the correct card (View our full HelpDoc here):

- If brought to your survey confirmation page, in the upper right corner, click the "Go to Page" button in the upper right corner -> "Confirm" —> "Update Credit Card." Here, you will be able to save your updated card details. You can also access all of your Surveys in your BackerKit account here.

- You’ll need to use this flow to update the pending charge on each campaign.
- Once you update your payment method for each of these pending charges, you can head back into your account to remove the old cards.
- You can once again click "Update" in the bottom right corner which will bring you back to the same page, but now a red 'Remove Card' button will populate. :) You should see no more "Pending Charges."
Once you select this, the card will be removed from your profile, and you're all set!

We understand that this current process is cumbersome and unideal. This is something our team is actively exploring improvements for, and while we can’t provide a specific timeline, it is on our roadmap.
