How Do I Delete My BackerKit Account?
Whether you can delete your account depends on whether you've pledged or Reserved on BackerKit's crowdfunding platform. Check out: Pre-Launch Reservation FAQ

If you have never pledged or reserved on BackerKit Crowdfunding:
You can delete your account by following these steps:

- At the bottom, click "Delete My Account":

❌ Receiving an error that says your account cannot be deleted?
If you've Pledged or Reserved on BackerKit Crowdfunding before:
Regardless of fulfillment status, these accounts cannot be deleted. Payment records must be retained for bookkeeping and compliance reasons for both the project team and BackerKit. You will receive an error that states "This account cannot be deleted."
If you’re trying to:
- Free up your email address for use on a different account, or
- See all of your surveys and pledges under one email, or
- Fix having more than one BackerKit account

💡 If you'd like your personal information removed from your account, contact Support and we can help anonymize your profile. Your profile also can be set to 'Private' here.
What does deleting your account affect?
⒳ It does not delete, or cancel any orders or project data
⒳ It does not stop creator or project emails (those are managed by each project team).
⒳ Without an account, you can not pledge to new BackerKit Crowdfunding-specific campaigns.
✓ You can still access your surveys in the future without an account using your survey links.
✓ Deleting your account removes your ability to view all your pledge info in one place
✓ Frees up that email address so it can be used on a different BackerKit account in the future:
- ⒳ Only if there are no BackerKit Crowdfunding pledges/Reservations tied to it).
Requesting data deletion under GDPR?
⚠️ Important: Requesting data deletion means BackerKit will no longer have your information on file to fulfill any outstanding pledges. This means you may not receive the products associated with your pledges if your information is removed.
If you are in the EU/UK or another region with similar data rights and want to request deletion of your personal data, please contact our Trust & Safety team at trustandsafety@backerkit.com.
Data deletion requests can take up to 30 days to process. BackerKit will delete data for which we are the Data Controller, and project creators will be notified so they can handle your request for their project records.
