Integrations: How are orders pushed from BackerKit to Shopify?

UPDATE: Shopify recently made updates to their APIs, and your BackerKit + Shopify Integration may have disconnected. Please re-connect your Shopify integration - Check out How do I integrate with Shopify?

By default, all orders pushed from BackerKit to Shopify will have “transaction data”. This means that backers will have the total amount paid on their orders. The total amount includes pledge amount, add-ons, shipping fees, and taxes.

Note: Not all countries require a state/region/province field for their shipping address. While this data may be required in BackerKit and pushed over to Shopify, some countries will not have fields available. If the country does not have a state or region, and the information is missing from Shopify, there should be no issues with shipping orders. (Ex. Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, etc)

When orders are pushed with transaction data, orders will look like this:

Orders will be marked as Paid in Shopify only if the cost of the product (with matching SKU in BackerKit) costs lower than the total amount paid by the backer.

  • Orders will be marked as Partially Paid in Shopify if the cost of the product cost higher than the total amount paid by the backer.

Note: Reach out to your Success rep to exclude transaction data on orders if prices are higher in Shopify than prices offered during the campaign.

When orders are pushed without transaction data, orders will look like this:

Orders will always be marked as Paid in Shopify.

Please also note: Free-form pledge question answers and order notes will not be pushed through the integration.
