How to Track Visits and Pledges for your Live BackerKit Crowdfunding Campaign
Your project’s Dashboard (located under LIVE STATS on the sidebar) is where you can see where your audience is coming from, including any referral tags that have been clicked. Each source is listed along with the number of visits, checkouts, and pledge dollars it has generated.
Under the "SOURCE" column, you can click on individual links, such as "bk-noti-just-launched", which is the mailer that automatically goes out from BackerKit when your campaign goes live. This will direct you to a detailed page for that specific source.
💡 If the Source is a Launch email or Project Update, there will be a link that takes you to the specific page. This is helpful so you can see which emails or updates had the highest conversions and iterate on them for future notifications.

How to create custom referral tags
Setting up ref tags for your live crowdfunding project is just as important as setting them up for your Teaser Page.
This allows you to see which posts are converting the most pledges: Is it the one where you mentioned the freebie incentive? Or the one where you showed your game being played IRL?
💡 Knowing which posts are getting the most traction can help you focus your efforts and pour more energy, time, and money into the types of content that are producing results.
When setting up your project, click View this project in the top left corner:
Then, copy the URL and add ?ref=your-ref-tag-here to the end of the URL. Test that the URL works and points to your project. Now, use the new URL with the ref tag in whatever post you're creating. Every unique post should get its own ref tag for best results.
💡 Note: Ref tags will drop attribution in a number of situations, so they shouldn't be used as a perfect measuring stick!
